The website supports growth and improves service discoverability
Kolmen kampuksen urheiluopisto is a versatile center for sports, education, physical activity, and wellbeing. It operates in Lahti, Lohja, and Helsinki, and is the only sports institute in Finland carrying the Olympic & Paralympic Training Center designation. As Finland’s most inclusive sports institute, it has invested heavily in accessibility and in accommodating people with different abilities.
One unified website for three campuses
When the three sports campuses merged, there was also a need to unify their websites. The goal was to quickly build a user-friendly site where information is easy to find. In addition, the client wanted to highlight events and current topics more prominently than before.
The client was looking for a partner for a fast-paced project and chose Druid to handle the implementation. The new Kolmen kampuksen urheiluopisto website was built on the Druid Experience Platform (DruidXP) in summer 2025, largely utilizing the existing foundation. The user interface design for selected elements was handled by our long-term partner Don&Branco.
A digital platform that strengthens marketing and brand
In the first phase, Kolmen kampuksen urheiluopisto adopted the new website, along with selected AI tools to support content production and Mautic marketing automation. DruidXP also provides built-in capabilities for content personalization.
“We wanted to bring all campuses under one roof, strengthen the brand, and enable cross-marketing. This way, customers can also discover services that are new to them. Another key goal was to improve information discoverability,” says Claudia Sahlberg, Digital Marketing Specialist at Kolmen kampuksen urheiluopisto.
Tight schedule, successful result
The website project was set to a tight two-month schedule. “I was a bit skeptical about whether we could make it, but thanks to Druid’s project manager Erika Vanhala’s excellent planning and project management, we got everything ready on time,” praises Claudia Sahlberg.
The biggest challenge, according to Sahlberg, was that there were fewer resources available for content creation than originally planned. “Despite that, we managed to finish the project on time. I was positively surprised that during the sprints we actually accomplished more than originally planned. Based on my previous experience, projects rarely succeed both on schedule and within budget – this time we achieved both.”
A clear structure for extensive content
The new site structure took some time getting used to for both staff and customers, but feedback has been mostly positive. “Especially the facility listings and cards, as well as the training views have received praise. The navigation has also been perceived as clear, even though there’s a lot of content. The main topics are easy to find, and the site is easy to use,” Sahlberg notes.

Content management and marketing automation in one
Sahlberg finds content creation in the DruidXP interface smooth. On the marketing automation side, she has created emails and built all the website’s forms. “I like that we have one easy-to-use service, and from a budget perspective it’s convenient to have everything under the same roof. Learning to use the new platform took some time, but I got the hang of it quickly,”says Sahlberg.
According to her, Mautic provides useful data and reports. “We haven’t yet had time to start using website personalization, but I see a lot of potential in it – for example in campaigns targeting newsletter subscribers.”
Agile and smooth collaboration
Collaboration with the Druids went seamlessly. “Working together was exactly what I hoped for – firm enough, but with a good sense of humor. Even though the pace was intense, it was fun all the way through. We were on the same wavelength with the whole team. I always got help when needed, and the team was very available,” praises Sahlberg.
Reaching the finish line together
“As project manager, Erika made sure that the agreed features were delivered and any bugs fixed. She also actively suggested ways to move forward. I appreciated the open communication and the fact that the responsibility didn’t fall solely on me – we truly moved toward the finish line together,” Sahlberg explains.
“The Scrum model ensured that the project was completed efficiently within the tight schedule. The team was able to focus on what mattered, and Claudia, as Product Owner, had allocated her time well so that she could be actively involved throughout. She had an excellent ability to prioritize value-adding features and was ready to make decisions when needed,” says Erika Vanhala.
Continuous development and new features
With DruidXP, content can be personalized by the target group, and the search functionality helps users find information easily and quickly. Kolmen kampuksen urheiluopisto has a clear plan for further development.
”Next, we want to improve the search functionality and expand our use of Mautic tools. We’ll also add more content to the site and introduce new elements. Other functionalities will be taken into use gradually,” Sahlberg explains.
A successful and inspiring project
”The project was really successful and fun,” Sahlberg concludes. “I was even a bit sad when it ended, because working with everyone was such a pleasure.”
Kolmekampusta.fi website now provides easy access to services in sports, education, leisure, and corporate wellbeing, as well as up-to-date event information.
The new website also offers a stable and flexible platform that supports future development steps. The same team will continue to support Kolmen kampuksen urheiluopisto in maintenance and ongoing development.
